On Wednesday, 5 March 2025, the Met’s Greek & Cypriot Association led the Orthodox Faith Group to host a celebration event at NSY; signifying the start of the Orthodox Easter.
The event welcomed VIPs from the Orthodox Chruch and wider community, including Cyprus High Commissioner Dr Kyriacos Kouros, Consul Olesandr Yurkin – Ulkrainian Embassy and Lieutenant Colonel Georgios Tzatzakis from the Hellenic Police.
Secretary George P commented: “Easter is the most significant event in the Orthodox calendar. The Met has thousands of employees that follow the Orthodox faith from various nationalities, including Greek, Cypriot, Romanian, Bulgarian, Ukrainian, Russian and Ethiopian.
“We hope events like this and the information below will assist in raising the profile of the religion whilst allowing supervisors access to information so that they can best support their staff”.
